((Biography))
Taking Europe by storm, Capsula is a hot band hailing from the streets of Buenos Aires, Argentina in South America. Capsula, spanish for Capsule named after Space Oddity, the song by David Bowie.
Formed in 1997 when soul-mates Martin Guevara (guitar / vocals) and Coni Duchess (bass / vocals) met, they quickly became one of Buenos Aires underground's most talked about bands, got married after a gig and moved to Europe. They began touring endlessly the UK, Germany, France, Portugal, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, including support slots to Super Furry Animals or The (International) Noise Conspiracy in Spain.
Releasing Eps and compilations in Europe, Capsula were recognized for their wild shows described as live sexy animals on stage by the European media.
In 2007 the band released their critically acclaimed debut album titled 'Songs & Circuits' for the Madrid label Discos Liliput. The album is distributed in France, USA & South America.
'Songs & Circuits' was produced by the band themselves & the single 'Voices Underground' was mastered by Greg Calby at Sterling Sound Studio, New York.
A review of 'Songs & Circuits' described it as 'Garage rock for the 21st Century' with reminiscent of The Velvet Underground, The Stones and Stooges. Other inspirations include Suicide, Spaceman 3, Sonic Youth and 1960's Psychedelic and blues rock from South America like Os Mutantes, Manal and Pescado Rabioso.
After the album 'Songs & Circuits' Capsula played festivals, toured the UK and the rest of Europe, SXSW 2008, New York, France, ZXZW Netherlands, Spain, Fib Benicassim, Greenspace, and the list goes on including two South American tours, magic radio shows, and wicked TV live performances.
Capsula's sound is a crazy furious mixed hologram that ranges from one genre to another, exploding in psychedelic, noise, and raw wild sounds gems in future. There is nothing this trio does without providing a sense of personal magic and passion ... With great sounds and amazing live shows, coming from South America, Capsula are a band to look out for!!!
